PM Rama: “Pay raise for university professors”

Albanian PM, Edi Rama, met with Tirana University professors and
declared that the reform undertaken by his government has changed the
entire education system in the country, which, according to him, was
ruined for profit reasons.
Rama said that the funding scheme had destroyed the system, since it tolerated private universities that were turning into earning private enterprises. This, according to Rama, destroyed both the private and the state universities.
Rama promised professors that their salaries will grow: “Universities will receive 5 million USD for salaries. University professors will be paid with 13900 ALL each month, lectors with 10300 more”, Rama said.
He reminded those present that the 2013 budget of the Ministry of Education was not enough to cover the salaries of professors and personnel, because it was only for nine months.
