Prime Minister Edi Rama has called the Parliament an instigator of the language of violence in Albania, after the macabre murder of a 14-year-old in Tirana in a knife fight with his peers.
At the end of the government meeting, referring to the ongoing verbal conflicts in parliament, he stated: “The tragedy of the 14-year-old student, his family and the Fan Noli school community, is too great to be included in the perimeter of the quarrel of the pseudo- elite of politics and media which day and night, diverts every national and public interest, into the filth of its own interests for power and business”.
“This tragedy should unite us as parents and as citizens to understand that each of us must take on more in protecting children, which starts within the walls of the home, continues within the school and extends everywhere, including TV screens, where the vast majority of those who shed now ‘crocodile tears’ are in fact irresponsible purveyors of violent language and from time to time open instigators of violence.
“This includes the hall of the Albanian Parliament, which is an open school of violence and instigator of violent language,” Rama added.
