The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that the protest of the
Albanian opposition is an effort to block the judiciary reform, an
attempt of the corrupted people of our justice system to escape the
punishment of the Vetting law.
“Citizens are in their right to protest, but if this tent will serve as protection from the judiciary reform, then those who protested yesterday will be betrayed by the leaders of this protest. The judiciary reform and the vetting law are the most significant expression of our people’s will to form a state. But on the same time, it is the biggest threat to those who for the past 25 years turned our justice system into a means to rule and rob the people. Politicians will not be able anymore to play the virgin while accusing others of immorality on a daily basis”, Rama said.
As for the accusations that Rama is going to manipulate the elections of June 18th, the Prime Minister said it is ridiculous, since the opposition has abandoned the electoral reform commission, and no evidence was presented so far.
While the Democrats are requesting Rama to resign, the Prime Minister said that not only he will not resign, but he will look for a second term on June 18th.
