PM Rama: Meta has forgotten he is the President, he wants to sabotage the elections

After the rejection of the recommendations of President Ilir Meta on the Electoral Code, Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued the accusations against him, saying that Meta has forgotten that he is the president of the country and that his real goal is “to blow up the elections”.

“Meta, by bringing the electoral code to the Venice Commission with a stream of arguments, will come out where he wanted, to blow up the elections.

“But no, we will do this because with this the voter ultimately wins, he knows who he is voting for. I think with this law everyone will be relieved for the fact that everyone got what they wanted.

“We wanted one thing, but didn’t bring it up at all, we left it to the others because we have now two oppositions, one at home. I do not understand Meta talking about June 5th as for November 29th, he has June 5 there. He has forgotten his duty, he has turned the President into a creature that settles in the fields to scare the birds. He threatens, blackmails, appears from one bust to the other, raises accusations as if we are stepping on their blood.

“We are asking him to simply leave them alone and behave like the president of the Republic and not like Monica’s boss,” Rama said, referring to Meta’s wife, leader of the SMI party.
