One day before the new Parliamentary Session, the Albanian Prime
Minister, Edi Rama, gathered the new Parliamentary group coming out of
the June 25th elections.
The first test of the new parliamentary groups will be voting Gramoz Ruci as Parliament Speaker. Rama asked the Democratic Party to vote him as one of the most experienced MPs.
“If our opponents refuse to vote Gramoz Ruci, they refuse to vote the oldest MP, and they refuse to understand that Albania doesn’t need mud throwing against political opponents”, Rama said.
In this first meeting with the new Parliamentary Group, Rama introduced the way how the new government and Socialists would operate.
“We will start a new chapter of the Parliamentary life. We are going to present the new government and our work will continue not only in Parliament, but also on terrain, with teams of our MPs present to continue dialogue with electors”, Rama said.
The majority leader asked MPs to show discipline in the next four years, since it will play a key role until the end.
