The two-day summit between China and the Central and Eastern European
Countries had the participation of Heads of 16 CEEC countries and the
Chinese PM, Li Keiqang.

The Albanian PM, Edi Rama, said the meeting of this year confirms the political will and commitment of 17 participating countries to increase the cooperation level.

“We need to identify the synergic perspective and new measures for cooperation between “6+1” through the “Belt and Road” initiative, with the international cooperation that better defines the three-way agreement between China, Europe and CEEC. The purpose of this view is the economic cooperation and continuity of political dialogue. The relations between China and Albania, in their 66th year, are very positive for the moment and I am happy to underline that they are getting better in other directions. The “16+1” and the “Belt and Road” initiatives are two other platforms that reinforce our relations”, Rama declared.

Rama mentioned the concrente projects in which the Durres city is also included.

“The connection of Shantou, the starting city of the Silk Road, with Durres, our second biggest city, will make way for the development of the Durres Port. Albania is working to give a new push to tourism, which is a national priority sector and an instrument to promote growth and all-inclusive development”, Rama declared.

Rama said that the operations planned in this summit encourage a closer cooperation and make it easier to work together for the best of our communities.
