Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in an interview with the Italian news network “Il Giornale” commented today on the agreement for immigrants with Italy, the elections held in America and the candidates in the race.
Rama also shared the experiences of his life, commenting that he “lived everything in a hurry” while adding that he loves Italy and the Italian language.
“With Giorgia Meloni, I signed the agreement for the Italian repatriation center in Albania. But for its suspension by the Italian courts we have no responsibility, except for the granting of total availability through the concession of Italian jurisdiction in the territory of the two centers.”
Rama added in relation to the agreement: “I cannot dare to judge the internal affairs of a sovereign and democratic state like Italy, where the division of constitutional powers is well defined not only on paper, but also in the work of the institutions.
“The data say that the Meloni government’s agreements with the governments of other Mediterranean countries, including ours, are bringing very important results. Landings of illegal refugees have been reduced compared to last year”
“Unfortunately we live in a world where political reflection and strategic thinking are increasingly lacking, and where the speed of life on social media and through WhatsApp seems to have robbed us of God’s greatest gift: the time to doubt and reflect before we act!”
Rama: The European Union is the most beautiful political project in human history, but its incompleteness is an increasingly large problem.
Regarding the vote in America, the prime minister did not show much zeal.
“I’m not endorsing anyone, but knowing that this long and very divisive election campaign will finally end with the election, helps me breathe easier.”
He was further asked about Albania’s vision of the future in relation to neighboring Italy;
“Italy is a great genius that no one can bring to its knees, even though there have been no shortage of Italians who have tried to prevent it from going properly.
Question: What should Europe do to become a protagonist again?
“Fortunately, I have to take care of little Albania and it is not up to me to solve many issues that have come to the fore in Europe. But there is something terribly impressive about the fact that, as Europe loses weight and competitiveness on the global stage, its formidable bureaucratic machine continues to churn out regulations and restrictions that make our continent an increasingly difficult place for business and innovation”, stated PM Rama among other things.
