Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke today at the EBRD summit on investments in the Western Balkans, praising the country’s tourism sector and pledging improvements and investments in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
“Albania I believe is in a new phase and it is clear that people visit it as it is a tourism paradise. In the Balkans we have an internal impetus and we can say that we had the highest number of tourists, even during the worst moments of the pandemic we have seen a significant growth of the tourism industry.
“We are seeing a lot happening in the energy sector, we are preparing large investments in energy, normally with foreign companies. For the infrastructure, I hope that we will be able to do more and continue on the one hand with the connections with Kosovo, by way of the Durrës-Prishtina railway, and then with the ‘Eighth Corridor’ for the connections with Northern Macedonia “, said among other things PM Rama.
