“With my head down, I apologize to all Albanians who have been tortured by the Cadastre” – this was the statement of Prime Minister Rama as he announced that on July 3 all the counters of the institution will be closed, in order to start online operation.
While presenting the reform in the Cadastre, Rama made the government, ministers, deputies and mayors responsible for corruption.
“Even though we have made a lot of efforts to change the property registration system, people have encountered absurd situations and processes, to the point of painfulness. The first truth is that we have not succeeded, even though we have tried it for a long time, to transform the Cadastre into what it really is. Cadastre is like a central bank, it is where citizens’ savings are kept and where their interactions are guaranteed.”
Rama added further on: “They have prevented Kadastra from becoming what it should be, the safe real estate bank of Albanian property. This is the bitter truth.”
“I want to say with my head down that today is the day to apologize on behalf of the SP in power to all Albanians who have gone through the chain of torture in the Cadastre. This apology comes from the leader of a guilty party, of course it is not the whole party, but the leadership of the party in the first place that has set the ugliest example” – said Rama among other things.
