PM Rama: “Albania’s role, based on its capacities”

Albania is ready to play its role in the Syrian refugee crisis, but this should be based on the capacities of our country.
This was the message given by PM Edi Rama for Commissioner Avramopulos in the meeting held this Friday.
Rama welcomed the Commissioner of EU Emigration and the topic of this meeting was the refugee crisis.
Avramopoulos declared that Albania is not alone with this crisis, and that it will have the EU by its side.
After Macedonia closed its border, thousands of immigrants were blocked in Greece. Each day more they are seeing Albania as a new route towards western countries. The first movements have already started and hundreds of Syrians are staying in the Albanian Syrian border, waiting for the results of the EU summit decisions.
