PM presents additional measures for coronavirus prevention: Lake walks and recreational parks will be banned

Prime Minister Edi Rama in another video message spoke about the situation of coronavirus in the country, announcing further measures to prevent the spread.

He said the next two weeks will be crucial.

“We can keep windows open for ventilation and turn off air conditioners. But that doesn’t mean going out for walks, like yesterday or today, where there were many people breaking the rules, or by the Shkodra lake where last night seemed like vacation time. We do not have time for further awareness raising, so we will ban attending the lake area and recreational parks. Today we have 38 infected in total, two of them in intensive care”.

“The worst is yet to come. I don’t want to put fear in you, but I need to let you know. I’m not telling you anything without consulting the experts. Before every communication I get their approval.

“Truth is the primary responsibility, the spread of the coronavirus is inevitable. While the figures from Angela Merkel and Boris Johson look alarming, one has to understand the essence. The virus affects many, despite the measures, but it must be understood that most will pass it without a sign, secondly most will pass it at home, and thirdly most of those who will be hospitalized will recover”, stated Rama.
