Each of the sapling planted at the “Road of Peace” at the Artificial
Lake in Tirana holds the name of the person who planted it. One of the
pine trees belongs to Matias.
“Today I will plant a tree that will have my name. It is beautiful to have my tree”, the little boy said.
Teacher “Ina Kasimati”, in cooperation with a group of students, have undertaken the initiative “Plant your tree”.
“Today we have arrived to express this civil awareness, this civil value in an action by planting the 110 first trees”, declared teacher Kasimati.
More than 600 citizens have paid 400 ALL in exchange of a personalized pine tree that will be planted in different areas of Tirana.
“We thought to spend 400 ALL, which would make 200 trees, but now we have 600 trees. We started with the Road of Peace at the Artificial Lake. In cooperation with the Tirana Municipality we will enable other areas that are emergent, because the tree that we chose is black pine”, declared Ejan Tanini, initiator of the “Plant your own tree” movement.
This civil movement has found support from hundreds of citizens, who want to help the green spaces of the city with a modest contribution.
