The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections will monitor closely the
voting process in 350 voting centers in Tirana and in 18 ballot counting
centers for this district. The representatives of this coalition
introduced an observation plan in a press conference held today.
“The coalition will observer the entire administrative and leval activity of the electoral administration, including the Central Election Commission and the voting centers. Our observers will be present in the appointed centers and will observe if the electoral materials have arrived from the Zonal Election Commissions in good physical shape and according to all rules. They will observe the closing process for the citizens that are still outside the voting center not for their fault, but because they were unable to vote. They will also observe the process of the closing of materials and their transfer to the counting centers”, declared Erind Merkuri, a legal expert.
This is the first time in the history of Albania that local observation groups will use statistical principles to observe the elections.
All observers will be trained by 13 experts, while the preliminary report will be published next week. On June 23rd they will publish periodic reports, while the monitoring preliminary report will be released one day before the elections.
