PJIU unblocks the reform

The declaration of the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity for
cooperating with the majority for the territorial reform seems to have
opened new possibilities for unblocking the stalemate.

Even if the Democratic Party will stand to its decision for not becoming part of it, the presence of a member from the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity creates the necessary quorum for starting the Territorial Reform Commission. This Commission will have 16 members, eight from the majority and eight from the opposition, and it requires a simple majority for starting. This would enable the presence of the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity member, who has promised to negotiate for sitting and discussing this reform.

But even if this effort fails, the majority has another alternative for realizing the reform that is considered extremely important: changing this part of the draft-decision, which gives the opposition the right to veto.

Representatives of the majority at the Territorial Reform Commission confirm for Top Channel that the changes of the draft decisions will be made to enable the planning and approval of the new territory division.

By removing the right to veto, they will be able to take decisions that will be considered valid. It is still unknown how much time will the opposition have for sitting at the Territorial Reform Commission, which itself has a 3 month deadline. The majority declared that this deadline will not be endless and that the reform will be realized anyway.
