The leader of the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity, Shpetim
Idrizi, declared that the position held by the Foreign Ministry for
discussing the Cham issue is right.
“The past governments have been intimidated by the Greek government, making the unsolved problems to only aggravate”, declared the leader of the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity, who greets the stance held by the Albanian government for articulating the demand of the Greek state for removing the Law of War with Albania.
But he opposes the stance held by Minister Venizellos on this issue. The law, according to Idrizi, affects three states: that of attacking without a warning to the state that war is declared; the territorial claims; and the seizing of properties of the citizens in the country to which war has been declared.
“The agreement that Venizello mentioned for 1987, removes the first state, that of the attack against Albania. The agreement of good neighboring removes the second one, the territorial claims. But not the property seizing of the Cham Albanians and the other Follorina Albanians, or other religious communities that go by hundreds”, Idrizi declared.
“There is also a document of 1998 that the Greek Foreign Ministry submitted at our Embassy in Athens, which confirms that the Law of War is kept in effect just for property laws”, Idrizi adds, who also says that the Greek stance of the maritime border is underhand.
“As for the maritime water agreement, we have a realistic stance from Bushati and an underhand stance held by the Greek Foreign Ministry, which included integration as a threat”, Idrizi declared.
What Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity doesn’t agree with official Tirana is putting Venizello’s meeting with Bishop Janullatos, the head of the Albanian Orthodox Church, when the Albanian church is independent.
But will this government’s request push the Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity to become ally with the majority, now that the government has put in their diplomatic agenda their main cause, the Cham Resolution?
“We will support every international matter, but this doesn’t make us part of the majority”, Idrizi adds.
