The Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, accompanied by the Minister of
Defense, Mimi Kodheli, commemorated the 71st anniversary of the Peza
Conference. Meta underlined the symbol of this organization and the
message that should be understood even today.
“Peze means unification, the country above everything else, and this is the appeal that comes today after decades, and that should be transmitted to the generations to come, for an equal cooperation on the nation’s interest”, Meta declared.
The Parliament Speaker considered the new government’s decision to put Ismail Qemali’s photograph in every office, instead of that of Bujar Nishani. He said that the message should be understood as it is, not as others want to transmit it.
“This has nothing to do with this matter. The fact that a basic figure of the state, such as Ismail Qemali, is a symbol of unification, is the same as everyone needs to keep alive the ideals of the Peza conference, of the partisans and communists of that time, who overlooked the differences between each other for the sake of the social progress of our country”, Meta declared.
