The newly resigned deputy leader of the opposition Democratic Party, Grida Duma, has demanded new elections in the party, after the latest election loss of the chairman, Lulzim Basha.
Critics of the president are rushing to gather the latest signatures with the request: Exclusion of Lulzim Basha from the parliamentary group.
The anti-Basha movement seems to also have as its ultimatum his irrevocable resignation.
Duma said: I would not have liked to get here but we hope that these days we reach a solution that includes Lulzim Basha. The movement does not have a single initiator but has been a cohesion both in the group and from outside. The only solution is the irrevocable withdrawal of Lulzim Basha and his non-candidacy further, because that would be a farce.
Duma added: I was with Lulzim Basha earlier in the Parliament cafe, and I saw that he wanted a kind of calming of the situation. A catastrophic loss has occurred, the wave of disappointment is too great. I think to ask nature for cam in times of storm as to say ‘calm down a little to gather ourselves’, this never happens.
