Peshkopia Mayor held in prison after sex scandal

The former Mayor of Peshkopia was taken under police custody, after a court order.

The Prosecution General announced that by request of the President of Serious Crimes, the Court has issued an arrest order for Shukri Xhelili, Mayor of Diber.

Until a few days ago he was accused of passive corruption, after he was filmed asking sexual favors in exchange for a job at the Diber Municipality.

The Court decision was implemented by the police.
