Besim Ndregjoni, the General Secretary of the International Association
for the Integration of Political Prisoners and Persecuted People during the
Communist Regime comments that the decision of the Council of Ministers
for changing the time when the period of the regime communism starts and
ends, and the regulation of the law for the compensation was very delayed.

“There are two years that the legal deadline is being violated. It was a bluff, saying today in front of the media that there are 400 85-year-old citizens and older who work in the state administration, when in reality only 10 of them have survived in the entire republic”, Ndregjoni says.

Ndregjoni also added that the crimes of the communism regime cannot be punished with political rhetoric. According to him, their persecutors are still working in the highest state institutions, while none of the persecuted people is actually having these posts.

“We, the politically persecuted people are facing the institutions of the Albanian state, the ones that sentenced us, that disdained us yesterday and today are giving us democracy lessons. If the Prime Minister has his vision for the country’s democracy, he should implement the resolution of the European Council and integrate the politically persecuted people”, Ndregjoni declared.

According to Ndregjoni, declaring Spac Prison a museum was a pathetic solution, when the communist crimes have started in the center of Tirana, with the execution of the intellectuals in 1945.
