An inmate at Peqin prison who asked not to be identified, spoke to Top Channel about the rights being violated within the walls of the institution, ranging from malnutrition to banning family visits due to Covid-19.
Another violation that occurs in prisons is, according to the prisoner, the abuse of prices in prison shops.
Frequent transfers are also commented on as abuses or used as punishments, however the truth that unites prisoners who refuse food, is the demand for a general amnesty. From the start of the convicts strike in Peqin, the domino effect is affecting other prisons, while there is still no official information on the situation.
