The Greek government repealed the law that returned pensions for 30.000
minority citizens in Albania and former Soviet Union republics.
Tsipra’s government had passed the law to give a minimal pension of 260 EUR to minorities, but after the early elections of September 20th, the requirements for the pension have changed.
The new draft law, besides the radical changes in the social insurance law, has canceled dozens of dispositions for minority members above 67.
Minority members who live in Greece say they are disappointed and out of hope. Sources say for Top Channel that Syriza and Independent Greek parties are trying hard to leave this part of the law intact or replace the pension for the minority into a small social assistance.
