The Pellumbas village is just 23 kilometers away from Tirana. 1 km from the village there is the Pellumbas cave, where visitors must take a hike which requires special shoes and great care.
Christian, a German living in Albania for the past two years, tells his friends that the difficult trail is forgotten right after one sees the cave.
“If you have the right gear and if you are fit, you should come. Otherwise, it is very dangerous. I have read about accidents, but they happen mostly because of people who take bigger dangers”, he said.
The cave is around 80 meters deep, now turned into a tourist attraction very close to Albania’s capital.
