The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared that the government will
make everything possible to enable the payment of disabled people
pensions before the New Year’s celebrations.
On the Day for the Disabled, Rama declared that this is the most disadvantaged group of our society.
“The communication is basic for the disabled people, who are seeing difficult times. I am revolted to the fact that your monthly payments have not been made. We are here to discuss a way to resolve your difficulties. On January we will start distributing the other payments”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister expressed his dedication and that of the government that he leads for being close to this category and share with them the mutual ideas and concerns.
“We will work each day for a government that focuses on people, and that doesn’t misuse funds that are for the pain and sensibility of people like you. We are determined to do everything possible for you”, Rama declared.
The Minister of Social Welfare, Erjon Veliaj, declared that the government will be transparent for the financial scheme.
“The payment delays for the disabled people started in 2010. We are negotiating with the Minister of Finances for this situation. We have asked to use all our institutions against professional discrimination”, Veliaj declared.
The head of the Disabled People Association, Abdullah Omuri, expressed his optimism that the financial situation for the disabled will get better.
Bode: Government is abandoning the disabled people
The former Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, accused the Prime Minister Edi Rama of lying when saying that the money of the disabled were used in campaigns.
“The disabled people have been abandoned by the government. They are not a priority of the Rama government”, Bode declared.
The former Minister says that Rama has no alibi for leaving the disabled people without their payment.
