The Parliament has decided three months of investigations for verifying the way how the President of Albania has exerted his competences in regard with the Constitution, during the local election process.
In this Parliamentary session, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that while the adversary shouldn’t be stopped while making a mistake, the will be forced to stop President Meta for the sake of the country.
Rama said that Ilir Meta is no longer just the known adversary of the government, but an open enemy of the Constitution and the Parliament, the image of any politician who is scared from justice and the judiciary reform, and who is hurting the citizens, the people, and the state of Albania.
As for Meta’s critics towards the foreign ambassadors, Rama said that he is considering the US Embassy as the enemy that he thinks he is supposed to stop, while aiming for political and institutional destabilization in the country.
The majority led by the Socialist Party wants to remove President Meta from his duty after he repealed June 30th as the Election Day for the local governments. Socialist MP Ulsi Manja listed the constitutional violations the majority claims have been made by the President. However, their accusations must be confirmed by the Constitutional Court, which hasn’t been established yet.
