Parliament starts procedure for Justice Appointments Council

The Parliament of Albania has started the procedures for appointing nine members of the Justice Appointment Council.

Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta said that this is an important moment for starting the justice reform.

The highest number of candidates had arrived from the High Council of Justice, which will have three members at the Justice Appointing Council, two judges from the Court of Appeal and one from the Administrative Court.

The Supreme Court had brought 13 candidates for one member. The Constitutional Court had eight candidates for two members, and the Prosecution General had three candidates for three members, two from the Prosecution General and two from the Prosecution of Appeal.
