The Albanian Parliament passed the controversial law that for the
first time in our history opens way to the sale of hydropower plants to
the private sector.

The draft-project, considered by the opposition as a criminal act, was approved with the 73 votes of the majority.

The first hydropower plants that will be sold to the private sector are the ones of Ulza, Shkopet and Bistrica. These plants produce 5.5% of the total energy in our country.

Present in the Parliament there was the Governor of Central Bank of Albania, Ardian Fullani, who presented last year’s report by suggesting necessary reforms for improving Albania’s economy.
