The majority brought for discussion in parliament the amends of the law
for organization and functionality of the High Council of Justice,
clarifying that this initiative is not part of the justice reform.
Pandeli Majko declared on behalf of the group that initiated it: “We are in the conditions when a car is off the road and we are trying to return it on track. We are not dealing with any special element for treating the problem of what we consider proper reform of the judiciary”.
The Sociaist MP declared that this law is simply the internal regulation of the High Council of Justice turned into law. He invited the opposition to confront and discuss the amends.
“On behalf of all colleagues, I invite without any challenge all Democratic Party colleagues, to ask the Constitutional Court’s opinion for any doubt they might have with this law. Whoever you might ask from the public and citizens, they are fed up with how judges give justice. I want to underline that not all judges do this. I believe that there will be understanding from all those who want these changes to be made for a normal functionality of the judiciary. Whoever wants to do the victim, is free to complain. Otherwise, we are ready to confront the highest institution at the Constitutional Court”, Pandeli Majko declared.
