Parliament decides for AMA vacancies

The majority decided to open the vacancy for the Head of the Audiovisual
Media Authority, by starting this way the procedures for replacing the
four vacancies of this institution.
The opposition declared through Parliament Member Genc Pollo that they are against. They declared that the independent institutions are being damaged. Pollo declared that it is not true that this institution has not worked. He underlined that the opposition has demanded the replacement of three members, not four.
But Parliament Member Alfred Peza argued that the replacement of the AMA members, including the Director, is fully legal. He argued that Mrs.Bushati kept stayin on her post although her mandate had finished since September 24th 2012.
Peza declared that the new selection is the only legal moment that creates a new legal relation for the members, and for the position of the chairman.
This decision opens the race for the four AMA vacancies, which had made this institution unable to work properly for at least two years.
