Parliament debates over EC report

Although the report of the European Commission declared that there has
been improvement in the fight against organized crime and traffic, the
opposition insisted in Parliament with the request to establish a
Committee for investigating the new appointments at the public
administration, claiming that some of them are involved in the drug
traffic.

The majority agreed to create the committee, but with the condition to extend its investigation for the past five years, even when today’s opposition was in power, and not only for the past three months, as it has been specified in the opposition’s request. The debate continued with the report of the commission for crime and corruption, with the Chairwoman of the Commission for Integration commented: “It is shameful to believe what is written on paper. The reality is different”.

“Do not discuss what is written on the report, because the Commission is a European Union structure, not a friend of the opposition or the government, but of the aspiring people”, declared the Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati.

In absence of the Government leader in Parliament, due to his visit abroad, the former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, was very active with his speeches and accused the Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati: “How did you become a Foreign Minister, without any experience in diplomacy? The only reason is that you are a neohoxhist”.

Bushati answered: “I will not discuss with you because I respect what you have done for this country, something that I cannot say for the crimes and the other damages that you caused to this country”.

However, the Foreign Minister appealed for a constructive position, since our country is facing an important challenge, that of receiving the candidate status.
