Although the Conference of Chairmen yesterday did not accept the
proposition of the Democratic Party to turn today’s parliamentary
session into a discussion of what happened in Korce, that topic
dominated today on the floor.
The Democrats came with stamped money that they threw to the majority and accused them of buying votes in Korce, and that the same scheme was used in the June 23rd elections.
“If someone thinks that they can keep power with dirty money, gangs and purchased votes, they are deeply mistaken. Very soon you will not have enough money”, declared Edi Paloka.
For the first time, Rama spoke about what the opposition is trying to turn into a cause, by even planing to hold protests next week. Rama declared that the majority of today will not repeat the behavior of the Democratic Party. While saying that the Democratic Party should take all “Fiks Fare’s” videos as reference, Rama explained that those people were FRESSH members and their travel was being bought, but the last word should be said only by justice, according to Rama.
“Today there is an entire opposition, an entire escort of Ministers, and entire force that for eight years kept Albania in a stalemate and brought them to a point in which our country has never been before. You’re using the transportation payment of some FRESSH members to make banal calculations. And those young people were immediately made available for the Prosecution. I have said it before and I will repeat it again today. Everything that is related to the vote, for me and everyone here, is not discussable here and not negotiable. You have all the right given by God to verify your interpretation through the justice institutions”, Rama declared.
But Sokol Olldashi from the Democratic Party made a different kind of declaration.
“We cannot hide our heads in the ground and just say that the Socialist Party is the only one to be blamed for what happened in Korce. You are first of all responsible in front of the people, and we are to blame for closing one eye for this phenomenon, when it was done by the parties that were in our coalition. This is not the democracy that Albania needs. We pushed this forward and then we all pretended that we forgot this, even the exchange of the Parliament Members, which started by Nano in 2001, continued with us in 2007, and we are still closing one eye on this”, Olldashi declared.
