Park Entrance Project postponed

The Deputy Prime Minister, Niko Peleshi, declared that the government
has postponed the procedures for finding a winner for the Tirana
National Park entrance. He says that the government aims to increase the
green areas in this park, not to add concrete buildings. The three
buildings that will be built will use only the space of the National
Guard.

Right after the competition, the citizen reaction has been very strong against the entrance of the park.

“There is no reason to rush things. Tirana has a regulation plan and a new Mayor. There is no need for a government decision. We must wait the new Mayor to start working”, declared legal expert Ylli Manjani.

The Cultural Heritage Forum expressed his concern regarding the lack of information for this competition. He said that the citizens’ opinion should be taken in consideration.

The grou “We, Tirana”, was also against the constructions at the entrance of the National Park. Citizens on Facebook and social networks have also reacted against it.
