The Albanian Foreign Minister, Edmond Panariti, considered his visit in
Greece as successful. He focused on the maritime water agreement with
our neighbour by saying that he has received guarantee from Greece that
it will be resolved in full accordance with the Constitution.

Panariti declared that they could not speak about the old maritime water agreement, since it will not be taken in consideration. Even the Greek part, according to the Minister, has not progressed with the reviewing of this agreement.

Panariti declared that during his visit in Greece he made it clear that there would be a new and incontestable maritime agreement, as it happened with the first agreement, and it will be signed only based on the Constitution and the international laws.

“For us, there is no existing maritime agreement. We must work together to negotiate for a new one. This problem must be addressed to only under the spirit of the Constitution and international laws. It must be a stable agreement”, Panariti declared.

He mentioned other important matters, mentioned during the talks with the Greek party, such as the cham case or that of the emigrants and the facilities regarding their live in the neighbouring country.
