The Democratic Party refuses to compare their March 12th protest with
that of January 21st, when the Socialist Party was in opposition. The
Democratic Party vice leader, Edi Paloka the main difference is the goal
of the protest, despite the fact that they are both about the
involvement of the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta.
“There are similarities in this case, as you said, the same character. This character seems that can create only stories like these. But there will be nothing equal to the January 21st of Edi Rama. Our protest has civilians who demand their rights. January 21st was abusing with civilians to have the Prime Minister’s post, which Rama couldn’t achieve even after four people died”, Paloka declared.
The Democratic Party perceived the protest of this Thursday as a demonstration against the government, which, according to the opposition, has failed to bring safety to the citizens. They also accused that instead of keeping the electoral promises, they have kept making the situation worse.
“The people’s discontent is to the point of revolt. Not because the opposition encouraged this. That is why early elections are a must, due to the fact that there is nothing that the opposition Parliament Members can change with their words. There is nothing that international institutions can change with this majority, now that it has been incriminated and have no intention to improve things”, Paloka declared.
The Democratic Party Parliament Members will be in a plenary session this Thursday, and then will join the protesters for the request of early elections.
“The philosophy of the DP has no violence, as it had in the time of Edi Rama. Citizens must be assured that no one thinks about making violent protests”, Paloka declared.
The opposition has held several protests so far that have lasted one hour, but this might seem different.
“How the protest will go, it is up to the citizens. They are the ones who asked us to find protesting methods until this government is gone”, Paloka declared.
Some young citizens, supported by the opposition but without party logos, ave started protesting in front of the Parliament for the resignation of the Speaker.
Paloka: Meta admitted and confirmed the accusations of the DP
The Head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Edi Paloka, repeated his accusations against the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, for the murder of Parliament Members Tom Doshi and Mhill Fufi.
By commenting the interview of the Socialist Movement for Integration leader this Monday, Paloka considered him a desperate person who is trying to evade the biggest accusation of the past 25 years in politics.
“He was accused of paying for the assassination of two Parliament Members, and he sees attacks against the opposition as the only escape. Ilir Meta appeared yesterday as the man who has done the crime and wants to get away with it. He admitted that the accusations of Tom Doshi have been kept hidden for six motnhs. Now that he has been removed from the Socialist Party, these accusations have no more value”, Paloka declared.
According to him, Meta confirmed the main accusation of the Democratic Party, when he said that he had met with the relatives of Fufi, with the purpose, according to Paloka, to blame the opposition about his assassination.
