Parents should be cautious with paints with which they paint their houses or painted toys, since they contain lead.

Specialists at the Public Health Institute say that paints contain lead which in some cases is much higher and can enter the system through the powder that is created after the paint is consumed.

Health experts say that poisoning from lead is very dangerous for the health, especially for children. Lead, according to them, damages the development of the children brain by reducing the coefficient of intelligence, by changing the behavior, shifting of concentration and it even damages kidneys and blood pressure.

“Lead is used as a pigment in paints and also as a drying agent. It is added to paints, but their biggest problem is that after they get old, the cover is damaged and the dust with lead can enter to the children’s system. Each year there are 600.000 new cases of mental health problems throughout the world”, declared Lindita Tafaj, specialist of the public Health Institution.

Led can be found in batteries, and the most endangered people are those who work with battery recycling. Lead is considered as one of 10 worst chemicals for our health. For this reason they appeal the government to take measures and eliminate it from paints.
