Ada was 13 years old when her parents filed a lawsuit against a developer to whom they sold their private house but did not respect the contract between the parties.

The trials lasted so long that Ada finished high school, college, got married and became a mother, and is now left with a process that drags on for decades.

“My parents took me by the hand during the court hearings as they were the ones who were not finding justice, I have gathered all the strength to sacrifice for my family and today I represent them”, – said Ada.

With the new courts map, the largest court in the country, that of the capital, is merged with the one in Kruja, and facing an accumulated stock of 22,000 cases.

“These are mainly civil cases, property or contractual matters, execution orders, they are files that require their own time to be worked on and impact the judges’ workload.” – said Donald Xhelili, chancellor of the Tirana court.

In the conditions of overload and shortage of about 40 judges, Xhelili appeals for additional staff. With the implementation of the new judicial map, the name of the jurisdiction has also changed, but the problem remains unresolved, since the stock in all courts has reached 109,000 cases.
