Other weapons found in Lazarat

Police found 15 firearms and ammunition in the “Teleferik” area,
Lazarat. Yesterday police found a sniper that had been taken from the
RENEA forces in 1998, during a very difficult operation in September
that had fire exchange and several wounded.

The operation was undertaken for freeing some businessmen who had been taken hostage to Lazarat. Several police officers were wounded, four in serious conditions.

Yesterday police arrested Vangjel Hasim Tule, 29, after finding 17 sacks of narcotics, grenades and other ammunition at his house.

27 people have been arrested in total, while the police started investigations against the Head of the Lazarat Commune, Dashnor Aliko, over “attempted murder in qualifying circumstances”, “organizing and leading criminal organization”, “failing to report a crime”, “supporting crime authors” and “special forms of cooperation with the crime”.

Police sources say that Aliko is suspected of having been present in all actions against the police, when they have been shot during their operation in Lazarat.

Police has found and destroyed 54.4 tons of marijuana, 133,000 plants of cannabis and 293 different fire arms.
