While the June 18th elections are getting closer, the first OSCE-ODIHR
mission has arrived to Tirana, with a Needs Evaluation report.

The OSCE-ODIHR will ask OSCE members to bring 30 long-term observers and 300 short term, to observe the elections in Albania.

Four members of the mission were informed that the boycott of the opposition may damage the electoral process.

Another concern raised by the interested parties in Albania, is the fact that the Central Election Commission is easily influenced by political pressure.

The OSCE-ODIHR that visited Tirana on March 6th and 9th expressed their concerns about the pressure against voters, vote purchase, usage of public funds and illegal money from the organized crime.
