The Ministry of Labor and Directory of Tirana Dormitories have not given
any real solution for the young orphans that were evicted from the
Technological School some days ago.
Vice Director of the Tirana Dormitories explained that legally, the young people are not allowed to stay in the dormitory, because they have finished school and the Ministry of Education has no scholarship for them until September, which would provide food for them during this time.
The Directory of Dormitories explains that while the Ministry of Education and Labor has given no funds for them, the Social Service has sheltered only one of the young men at the “Zyber Hallulli” orphanage.
“One of the orphans is 16 years old, therefore we decided to make him stay for some time at one of our institutions. The mother of the 10 months old girl had an offer, but she refused it. Six of the other young men do not have an “orphan” status. It is part of the Directory of Dormitories responsibility, which depends from the Municipal Unit”, said Gazmend Zita, chief of the Children Sector.
No concrete measure was given for the other young men. According to the Social Service, they do not benefit from the orphan’s status. These young men do not have any opportunities for being sheltered and employed, although they were raised in Social Centers without parental car.
