The Albanian opposition leader commented on Facebook the reports of “the Heritage Foundation” and “Wall Street Journal”, for the economic freedoms of 2014.

According to Basha, Albania is regressing rather than progressing: “We have been reporting the danger of concentrating the economic and political power on one single hand. We have been reporting the corruption, criminalization, damaging of property and increased taxes. We find all these confirmed in the international reports”, Basha writes on Facebook.

The opposition leader says that the economic situation of people today is in extreme conditions.

“The Rama-Meta model of higher taxes and fees in a time of crisis keeps making the Albanian citizens even more poor. The economy keeps going down. A government that wants to control everything for itself and for its clients, cannot behave differently. The economic freedom is the concept that makes us different from this government. We are the power of freedom, the destructive power against limitations”, Basha declares.

The opposition leader gives an ultimatum to the government: “This Thursday, the government has the chance to start correcting their course by canceling the circulation tax increase and by reducing the energy price with 14%, as they had promised in the electoral campaign. Otherwise, they will face the force of the Albanian people who refuse to be treated as lab rats, to be lied to, to be humiliated and violated by a handful of oligarchs. The patients of our people is over”, Basha concludes.
