The head of the opposition’s Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has submitted to SPAK special prosecution the file against the Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku.
Bardhi says there is theft and abuse with electricity prices.
“A project, seemingly insignificant to public attention, but which shows how the Minister of Energy, Belinda Balluku, uses the country’s vital need for electricity to produce a criminal scheme that almost triples the costs of energy projects.
“The case that I will make public today bears the signature of Belinda Balluku from beginning to end. A repeating violator of the law, who should be investigated by the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office without wasting time.
“Only with the signature of Balluku can it happen that a project, which, when built by the state agency KESH, costs 8 million euros and when built by the private sector costs 3 million euros.
“This has happened with the project to build the photovoltaic plant on the Zadeja dam, the cost of which has been fictitiously inflated, causing damage to the state budget of at least 5 million euros.
“A fictitious increase in costs occurs with many, many other projects under Belinda Balluku or other ministers of Edi Rama’s government, but today I am bringing the facts about the abuse of public funds in the project of the Albanian energy corporation KESH.
“Under Belinda Balluku, KESH signed a contract for the construction of the photovoltaic plant on the Zadeja dam for 8.13 million euros, or 97% of the fund limit.
“The Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has the obligation to investigate this very clear corrupt affair without succumbing to pressure and without delay. The file is there, it contains every fact, every document and leaves no room for any delay,” said among other things DP’s Bardhi in his report.
“All three of these are issues where SPAK has the chance to catch the sharks and hyenas of the government, until election day comes and Albanians decide by vote only justice can stop their greed,” he concluded.
