The Democratic Party representatives were absent in the Parliamentary
commissions. Based on a political decision, they reject to become part
of the draft laws before the drug traffic case is explained.

This doesn’t mean that the opposition will abandon the Parliament. On the contrary. The Democratic Party has handed a request in Parliament where thy demand the majority to remove all other points of the agenda for this Thursday, and turn all of it into an extraordinary session for the drug traffic.

“We want to summon the Parliament in an extraordinary Parliament session, where we will discuss on the Divjaka case and the drug traffic through the air, with the help of the government’s alibis. Secondly, we want to include this issue in the daily agenda, since it is the only one that is being discussed in a plenary session”, declared the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group leader, Edi Paloka.

The Democratic Party is far from the votes that are needed for changing the Parliament’s agenda, votes that the majority has, with more than 35th. However, in the request addressed to the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, the Democratic Party seem determined to not allow anything else this Thursday besides the drug traffic issue.

“Any attempt to block this plenary session and to not accept this legal request of the opposition, the only voice that protects the public interest, is unacceptable for the opposition and the public opinion”, Paloka declared.

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, held meetings with the opposition representatives at the local government, with representatives of the civil society, coordinators and Democratic Party governors, to organize the protest that will be held this Thursday at the Albanian Parliament. This protest is motivated by the opposition’s request for the Prime Minister’s resignation.

“Removing Edi Rama as Prime Minister of this country, the man who is responsible for covering the shocking facts of the drug traffic with government’s support. This remains the ultimate request of the opposition. I am convinced that this is the opinion of the Albanian public, which cannot accept the returning of Albania into a drug cartel. Albania towards Europe, not towards Columbia”, Basha declared.

Berisha accuses high-rank military officials

“Used NATO to lie Albanians about the security of our skies”

The former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, accused the government of leading the drug-traffic that according to him has taken alarming proportions.

The former Prime Minister attacked the Army leaders, saying that they used NATO to lie at Albanians about the safety of our skies.

“General Lleshi, spokesperson of Edi Rama for the army, and Gjeneral Baze, Lleshi’s follower, lied to the Albanians and said that NATO has guaranteed that there are no renegade airplanes. This is a very big lie. NATO guarantees the Albanian skies above 3000 meters. Under 3000 meters, our country has to defend its own”, Berisha declared.

Berisha invited the President to take measures against the military, and declared that the drug tariffic is a serious threat for the national security and the country’s integration.
