Opposition to boycott Parliament

The Democratic Party will continue consultations with allies until
Thursday, when the opposition will give a clear decision about the
behavior of the opposition in Parliament.

What prevails now is the persistence of the Democratic Party and their allies for not accepting the transformation of the Parliament into a notary that approves the government decision which they call anticonstitutional. The opposition is very clear in this position, but they haven’t decided yet if boycott will be one of their political instruments.

“We will decide together this Thursday morning. We don’t accept to be part of a Parliament that is not based on law”, Mediu declared.

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, wants to focus on the behavior of the government, not to that of the opposition in Parliament. According to Basha, the government is bringing the Albanian people to a new failure with the European integration process.

“We are coordinating our action with the allies. We are planning the steps that needs to be taken against the unprecedented violation of the Constitution, the law and the Parliament’s regulation. This anti-law, anti-constitutional and anti-European of this majority, which has a black blockage record as opposition, is now setting another black record as majority by putting in danger the entire popular aspiration of the European Union membership. These are issues that we are discussing, and we will keep you updated about this”, Basha declared.
