One day after the Parliamentary elections which reconfirmed the
Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) as the first one that will have
Constitutional possibilities to create a new government, the
Self-Determination Movement has established its opposition initiative by
inviting all other parties to make no coalition with the PDK.
“We are ready to stop the new government of the old regime. For this reason we will contact with the other opposition parties, so that they don’t join Thaci and make this bad governing return”, declared the Self-Determination Movement leader, Albin Kurti.
The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) was not able to be the leading force in these elections, and they haven’t held any position regarding a possible coalition with the PDK.
“We have not talked about this. Today we made an evaluation of the elections. We have improved with the votes that we have received, but this is the result and we have to wait for the ceritification to reflect better. We have important work to do. We will work so that we can do our job well”, Mustafa declared.
The leader of the LDK, Isa Mustafa, summoned an urgent meeting at his party’s headquarters, but they didn’t speak about the initiative of the Self-Determination Movement to stop PDK from creating the new government, or for any possible resignation of Mustafa.
After the leadership meeting, Mustafa declared that his resignation is not a plan of the LDK. He declared that they will speak about the election results only after the final certification.
The other smaller parties have not given and declaration about the results, and have not denied the possibility of cooperating with the PDK.
The Head of the Initiative for Kosovo, Fatmir Limaj, who left the PDK a few months ago, declared in a press conference that they are open for the governing coalition, by not excluding even the PDK.
“We need to wait for the certification of the result. Then we will see how it goes, what coalitions will be built, who will offer coalitions and based on that we will give our answer”, Limaj declared.
The PDK is waiting for the final results, and its officials have said for Top Channel that they will not rush making a coalition without learning the names of the Parliament Members that have won mandates for the new legislation. The Aak has held no public stance yet.
