At a meeting of political leaders of the main Albanian opposition party DP, its leader Sali Berisha spoke about the November 26 protest, as he otherwise calls ‘civil disobedience’, saying that on November 26 “Tirana must be in the hands of the citizens”.
“This urgently called meeting is related to the protest, to the of the citizens of Tirana and all of Albania on November 26, at 5:00 p.m. The time in which the protest, or the civil disobedience, is called maybe short.
“But the revolt, the anger of the citizens against the government is growing at a progressive speed from week to week. The anger against it is unstoppable. Therefore, I ask you, the branch presidents, branch presidencies, members of the presidencies, heads of group sections, members of group sections and our supporters, an extraordinary mobilization so that Tirana on the 26th will be entirely in the hands of the citizens and not of the government.
“This narco-government does not deserve a single minute of time. Attack and only attack should be our stance. Tuesday’s civil disobedience, the march in Tirana, should be a true triumph of revolt, of anger, of the invincible spirit of the citizens in their capital.
“We must take every measure to prove to the Albanians that we are the majority, and not only the political majority, but also the numerical majority, and that the narco-dictatorship has no future. I am also here to warn them, do not dare touch the angry protesters,” Berisha continued.
