The opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, met with young Democratic Party members to invite citizens to their February 18th protest.

“I promise to all young Albanians that my first act in government will be that of repealing the higher education law”, Basha said.

“We will also fund internship programs for 10.000 young Albanians, during the first year only. It will cost 24 million EUR a year, so that 10.000 Albanians will stop staying in cafes and start working for an entire year, each month paid by the government”, Basha said.

But, according to Basha, this cannot happen without free and fair elections.

“On February 18th it will not be just a protest from the opposition. It will be the start of a popular movement to bring back dignity and opportunities for every Albanian, for every young citizen”, Basha said.

But is the opposition going to ask Prime Minister Rama to resign in these protests? “I expect citizens to rise and take away the evil”, Basha said.
