The leader of the Albanian opposition DP Sali Berisha promised today in a meeting with university teachers that upon his coming to power he will remove the average grade for university admission and that students will receive 200 euros every month as a living minimum.
“I use this opportunity to invite university teachers to not forget for a moment that the worst disease of intellectuals is conformism”
“We, together with the students, should do everything to stand up against this regime. Let us do everything to shake its foundations in these remaining months, with civil disobedience, because the power of universities and students is extraordinary.
“All the poor areas of the country were punished, but this will end. From the 80s the free countries have opened the doors of universities for their children. But this government has a bad mentality.
“I also invite high school students not to forget that in the new university year, the grade average will be removed. The doors are open. And not only that, but the living minimum will be applied to every student, 200 euros a month.
“The student card will be enriched with a series of other facilities. We, as I have declared these days, will widely introduce the consumer card to restore VAT to pensioners, low-wage earners and those in need. Even students cannot fail to be beneficiaries like the rest”, Berisha promised further on.
