The Albanian opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, reacted after the Foreign
Commission at the European Parliament passed amendments prepared by
MEPs, based on the resolution of MEP Knut Fleckensteein, the rapporteur
for Albania,.
Basha said free and fair elections are the main condition for starting EU accession negotiations.
“Yesterday’s parliamentary resolution has underlined once again that free and fair elections are a condition. The condition itself proves that Edi Rama’s plan to steal, manipulate and destroy the elections, will ruin the future of our country and the stability of Albania”, the opposition leader said.
Basha added that the four years of Edi Rama’s government have forced Europe to put a basic condition such as the fair elections.
