The next 10 days will be important for the Democratic Party, because
they will have to decide if they will return to Parliament or not.
While the new parliamentary session starts on September 1st and the time for the decision is ticking away, the opposition is seen in chaos, leaving room for speculation.
The Democratic Party has constantly accused the Prime Minister of inciting violence in parliament against the opposition MPs and of defending MPs with a criminal past. With these declarations, the DP consider the Parliament an incriminated place, or, quoting the DP leader, “a shelter of crime where the opposition is threatened with life”.
But after 41 of harsh stances and total boycott of the Parliament, the DP has made another move.
Some higher representatives of the opposition in Parliament have met with the Japanese colleagues today, who are attending an official visit in Tirana by invitation of the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta.
However, this movement cannot be analyzed as a new step of the DP for entering the Parliament, which is being visited also by a delegation of the German Bundestag.
Official sources confirm for Top Channel that the Democratic Party has chosen to not be part of the Parliamentary activities with the delegation of the German Bundestag.
It is still unknown why the Democratic Party is using two standards within one day with two different parliamentary delegations. The fact is that the opposition met with the Japanese delegation during the day, but didn’t meet the German one in the afternoon.
This makes it difficult to have an idea if the opposition will be in Parliament in the next session.
