After almost two hours, the protest of the opposition came to a pacific close, despite some sporadic problems.
Protesters gathered at firs at the main boulevard, where opposition leader Lulzim Basha appealed citizens to come together against the government in power, which, according to him, serves to the crime and oligarchs and robs the citizens.
Then Basha invited protesters to march towards Tirana’s centre, at the Interior Ministry. Interior Minister Xhafaj, who is being accused by the opposition, was inside.
There were a few incidents as the crowd was leaving to the Interior Ministry building. Some protesters threw firecrackers and solid objects towards the police, but everything was concluded quickly and peacefully.
Many MPs of the Democratic party intervened to calm the protesters and moved away towards the DP headquarters, where Basha held a final speech, thanking protesters for the participation.
