One week after the majority discharged the head of the High Inspectorate
of Declaration and Audit of Assets, Zana Xhuka, the opposition appeared
in Parliament with an even harsher speech against the government, a few
days after they declared to boycott the Parliament.
With the decision to stay in Parliament, the opposition arrived in the room with the strategy to not only be present in Parliament, but to stand and not sitting on their chairs, while the majority was discussing the laws.
“I thank you for standing and respecting Parliament Member Armando Subashi. No one stops you from making noises by hitting the tables, but you have no right to damage the computers. The administration will verify their situation after this meeting”, declared the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta.
“Mr.Speaker, this Parliamentary Group, different from what you have personally done, together with others in this room, did not jump on the tables or chairs of Ministers, as you did some time ago. You might behave as if you have become virgin again, but you remain the same”, declared the former Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli.
What stood out in this climate, were the declarations of the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, especially Prime Minister Berisha, who appeared with a new stance:
“Stop trying to take institutions, threatening the institution leaders in mafia-style, or you will make us do what we wanted to avoid. You take it easily, but you are wrong. You have prepared the conditions for such a destabilization that you cannot imagine”, Berisha declared.
“I know that you are here for an anti-rally, and it is clear to me that this anti-rally is not against us, but against the new leader of your party, who didn’t allow you to speak in the protest. You violate the regulation just because I am tolerant”, Meta declared.
Opposition abandons the room
After the tensions that were created, the opposition left the plenary session.
The Democratic Party Parliamentary Group leader, Edi Paloka, declared that the Democratic Party will not boycott the Parliament, but they want to remind the majority to make it legal again and not behave with arrogance.
“We asked the Parliament for more than one hour to return the anti-constitutional procedures that they followed the last time. By discharging the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets, they didn’t take this decision not only against her, but they also discharged the Albanian President, Bujar Nishani”, Paloka declared.
